Built From Racing. Not Marketing.
I1 Suspension Development is a Kansas City-based performance suspension company built from more than 30 years of hands-on off-road racing, race vehicle fabrication, development, setup, and competition experience.
We Don't Just Rebuild Shocks.
We understand what the vehicle is doing and why.
Suspension development is a complete system. Shock valving, spring rates, preload, ride height, vehicle weight, weight distribution, suspension geometry, terrain, speed, and driver feedback all interact. Treating a shock rebuild as an isolated service misses the point. I1 uses a whole-vehicle approach — because that's how suspension actually works.
T.J. Flores
Founder, I1 Suspension Development
T.J. Flores has spent more than 30 years immersed in off-road racing — not as a spectator, but as a racer, fabricator, and vehicle developer. His experience comes from actually racing, building, testing, troubleshooting, and developing vehicles under real race conditions.
Over those decades, T.J. has worked with race teams, drivers, and race vehicles across a range of programs. That depth of hands-on experience is what drives the way I1 approaches every suspension job — from a UTV shock rebuild to a full race suspension development program.
When you send your shocks to I1, they're being worked on by someone who has felt what bad suspension does to a vehicle at speed, and who understands what good suspension is supposed to feel like.
Decades of Real Race Conditions.
There's a difference between a shop that has read about suspension tuning and one that has developed vehicles under actual race conditions. I1's foundation is built on the latter — years of racing, fabricating, and solving real suspension problems on real race vehicles in real terrain.
The Same Approach. Every Job.
Whether it's a production UTV getting its first performance rebuild or a dedicated race vehicle going through full suspension development, the process is the same: understand the vehicle, understand the terrain, understand the driver, and build a setup that works. No guesswork. No generic tune.
Experience You Can Feel.
Most suspension shops can rebuild a shock. Fewer can tell you why your vehicle is behaving the way it is, what the suspension is actually doing at speed, and how to fix it. I1 brings more than 30 years of race experience to every job — and that changes what's possible.
